Reverend Terrilisa Durham Bauknight was ordained an Intinerant Deacon in March of 1995 and an Elder in March 2001. She was the Senior Pastor of Bethel Mission AME Church in Metuchen, NJ for four years before its closing, and then St. James AME Church in Manalapan for two years. Reverend Bauknight was then sent to Centenary United Methodist Church in Metuchen where she was the Assistant Pastor for 13 years. From there, she was assigned to Mt. Pisgah AME Church in Washington, NJ at the 142nd session of the NJ Annual Conference. 

In July of 2018, Reverend Bauknight accepted a new assignment. She is now the Senior Pastor at Bethel AME Church and House of God in Boonton, NJ. In addition to serving the members and this historical community, Reverend Bauknight ihas been a Social Studies teacher at Essex County Vocational Technical School for 15 years. She is also a student adviser, PLC Facilitator, SCiP (School Improvement Committee) member, Cultural Inclusive Curriculum Writer, a National Endowment for the Humanities Scholar, and Amistad Fellow. She is also certified to teach Special Education. 

Reverend Bauknight holds a dual Bachelor's Degree--in Sociology and Pre-Ministerial Religion--and two Master's Degrees in Counseling Psychology and Divinity, respectively. A Master's of Education and Master Teacher Certification in Holocaust and Genocides is on her to-do list in addition to completing her PhD. She enjoys cooking, music, writing, and being outdoors in her "spare" time.
